Our version of Paddington, set in 1950s London, borrowed our aesthetic from the original Paddington animations. The production was an energetic extravaganza of clown lazzi and oldey timey dance numbers that were homages to three of my artistic heroes, Gene Kelly, Django Rheinhardt and Charlie Chaplin.
